Current Situation and Political Events in the Caprivi Strip

The political situation in the Caprivi Strip is unbearable therefore a solution need a common ground to find a solution. The conflict between Caprivi and Namibia will in the future be regrettable for Namibia. The political game that Namibia is playing over the Caprivi Strip case is simply transferring the problem to the next generation which will be blamed to the current generation. The Caprivi dispute call for political dialogue. The Namibian political activities in the Caprivi Strip is not necessary to the people of the territory.

2017 - The issue of Caprivi independence asked and responded to in the Namibian National  Assembly – Honourable - Benson Kaapala (Caprivian politician representing Workers  Revolutionary Party (WRP) for the first time.

2017 - Morocco Institute a probed Namibia over the Caprivi Strip human rights issues and self-determination.

2017 - Former MP Honourable Mr Alfred Namayabona Chilinda – Asked President Hage G. Geingob – about giving Caprivians about the dialogue between the Government and UDP leadership.

2017 - Caprivi Concerned Group (CCG) demonstration for the release of Caprivi political prisoners. Submission submitted to the Governor represented by the Mr I. Nkunga.

2017 - 13 October 2017 – NamRights - Expert Testimony by Mr Phil ya Nangoloh submitted to the High court in support to release Caprivians in prison – certain historical national and international laws, resolutions and treaties, in a chronological order, which clearly, convincingly, objectively and overwhelmingly demonstrate the separate territorial status of Namibia and Caprivi Strip- Windhoek Namibia.
